responses to diversity in a secondary environment

Project
Aim
The aim of
this project is to examine how Linwood College is responding to
the diversity of its students. The findings from this research
will be used to inform future policies and practices to address
diversity at Linwood College and has the potential to inform policies
and practices for schooling in general.
The objectives are to:
- Examine
school-wide systems and policies
- Examine
departmental strategies
- Examine
teaching practices
- Sample
student voice concerning a wide range of outcomes
The overarching
question is: how is the school aligning policies and practices
to help support teachers to facilitate learning for diverse students?
Partnerships involved
This project
involves a partnership between Linwood College and the Christchurch
College of Education.
Expected Outcomes
- November,
2005, Presentation to staff of Linwood College of the findings
by lead researchers, Peter Buyers and case study teachers.
- December,
2005, Report to the Ministry of Education
- A national
conference presentation (e.g. NZARE, NZARN, TEFANZ)
