TLRI Management Structure

The management structure of the TLRI has two tiers:

  • The Advisory Board
  • The NZCER Co-ordination Team
      

The Advisory Board

The Advisory Board has been set up to provide an overview of the Initiative and to make key recommendations about it. It has been convened by the Ministry of Education.

The board comprises of representatives from sector organisations:

The Role of the Advisory Board

The role of the board is to:

  • be the strategic leader of the Initiative, creating a vision and strategies to achieve the desired outcomes
  • set priorities and criteria for research programme funding and recommend these to the Minister
  • ratify the process for deciding on the research programme to be funded
  • recommend to the Minister the research proposals to be funded
  • advise and liaise with the programme co-ordination function in the implementation of the Initiative
  • recommend associated activities to enhance the research capability and the professional linkages between researchers and practitioners
  • provide advice on how to achieve and facilitate the impact of the research programme in their own sector networks
  • review the outcomes of the Initiative at appropriate milestones and adjust the strategic management of the initiative when required

The NZCER Co-ordination Team

NZCER has been contracted to co-ordinate the management of the TLRI programme.

The team comprises:
  • Robyn Baker, Director, Development

  • Richard White, international expertise
  • Diana Todd, TLRI Project Manager
  • Sarah Boyd, Communications
  • David Ellis, publicity and dissemination


The Role of the Co-ordination team

The key tasks of the co-ordination team are to:

  • demonstrate intellectual leadership
  • develop and implement quality assurance processes
  • build awareness of the TLRI
  • undertake activities designed to build capability around teaching and learning for researchers and practitioners
  • design and implement an effective operational plan
